Poem?

When I sit to write, or stop to think,
sadness is the first.

The Lord is victorious and because of Him I am too
Yet sadness persists

Motivation rises and I fight to change so I may thrive
even still, sadness lingers

So, i get smart and attack the Black with reason
though reason prevails ITS STILL THERE

Sadness, old foe, you may lurk and linger throughout my life, but the Lord gives new life despite you. Life of which you cannot oppress. You are a defeated foe!

Blessed be the name of the Lord

  1. Keep fighting the lies with God's truth! You are a child of God, the Almighty King, whose love is unparalleled and everlasting and undeserved and all-encompassing. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning... Sadness is never a good time, but thank you Jesus that You are light! Sorry to hear about your sad times, Jonathan. Hang in there, I'll be praying.

  2. Hay Jonathan!!I so understand the word "sadness", it seems to always be there in my life too, just when I think I'll get a break, there it is again.......but through it all we are still here, God has a plan, it is as far as the east is from the west, we don't know His plans, we do know they are plans to prosper us, not to harm us, so we must carry on as in faith believing and trusting not giving up (as our enemy would have us do)We are in school down here on this earth, always learning, and as children of the Almighty, Allknowing, Never changing God, We must know and Trust as we lay in His loving arms, that He WILL carry us through!!! Walking the road with you.

  3. Hey Jonathan! How you doing? Just wanted to let you know that I reread this post again today and prayed for you again. I admire your faithfulness, even when you are challenged and sad and conditions are far from comfortable and good. You keep shining Jonathan. You are such a fantastic encourager. Everytime I talk to you I find myself noticing that... Thanks for being transparent and letting Jesus shine through... :D

  4. First, thanks so much for your kind and encouraging words, both of you. I wrote this thing almost to illuminate an enemy within myself that thrives on being hidden and generally in the dark. If i/we can become more aware of the things dragging us down, then we can deal with them and witness its defeat.

My hope is this won't be heavy and depressing, rather an acknowledgment and the defeat of a foe. A foe that i know we all face. Ignoring problems seem to be the problem's nutrition. As I go through life i'm finding i have a lot of really healthy problem :D Praise the Lord, he never gives up on us!
