Simplicity

Let's see... how can i complicate simplicity itself? I know, i'll write a blog about it...

I've been a christen for a little while now and i've experienced some things and grown a bit in my faith. I like coming across ideas and new insights in the the christian walk. The biggest problem is that we, as broken people, often have tainted ideas. Concepts that subtly promote hierarchy of power in all of its forms. Hierarchy is a bitter sweet addiction of the soul, it allows us to perceive ourselves as greater than some, but then rob us of worth as we see others soar above us.

Ideas on sanctification, how church ought to be, how we can extra-biblically do the Lord's will, which music facilitates worship the best, the list is as long as human history. The easiest thing in the world is to get sucked right in. and not even realize we're partaking in it.

Matthew 22:36-40 (NIV)

36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

If we abandoned everything and made the singular purpose of our lives to love the Lord, i think we would thrive! If we could single-mindedly love him while we do life, Everything would be done by the Lord through us! We would  struggle to not get distracted by the height we'd soar to! This is what we made to do i think and in heaven we will do this perfectly. I think it could be said, this is the singular purpose of our existence and yet the simplest things are the hardest!
